March - Music In Our Schools Month

Why Music?

You don't have to become a professional musician to benefit from the study of music.  Music is a life-long pleasure and musical styles are as numerous as the creative minds that shape them.    Take a look at these creative musicians who are combining their love of music with technology.

Music is for people of all ages.  This next video shows what the love of music has done for a five-year old.

Music training, begun when young, becomes a source of joy throughout life.  Watch the expressions on the faces of these elderly musicians.

The love of music helps to overcome many obstacles.  Watch this beautiful musical expression by a girl who has no fingers on one hand.

Our own staff members are excellent examples of how music enriches their lives.  Whether it's music for dancing, exercizing, relaxing, worshipping, performing, or just for entertainment, we all experience it on some level.  Check out the performance spotlight to find out which faculty member is being showcased.

What's Been Happening in Music at CLES

December was packed with musical activity.  Our school orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. Dise did an outstanding performance.  Our Recorder/Orff Ensemble combined not only with our orchestra, but also with band members from Corporate Landing Middle School to perform a few selections.

The second graders wowed us with a fantastic performance of "The Gingerbread Christmas."  Please scroll down to view pictures from this performance.
